yes.
but! only if you are ungrouped* and have no dots on you and are able to do it quick enough that they don't knock you out.
however!
you can meld > pounce directly in all cases (which is unlike rogues that have to stealth before they can CS out of a meld), and yes, that's just as game changing as you'd expect.
